A Less Inspirational Movie
(originally written September 23, 2012)
In class on Thursday my professor for the Methods class went through her own personal process for her personal scholarly writings: how she gathered information and compiled it into a more structured and precise manner.
The things she left me to think about at the end of the session were: not overusing quotes (you could lose your own voice in the essay by doing that) and how to use Chicago style citations and why that is the scholarly citation style of choice.
This class was meant to be helpful for our work on the visual Analysis Project where we explore and research a work in the school art collection, then present a public presentation on it. I feel that this class day was helpful if for no other reason then I now understand Chicago style citing better.
